Valincius is one of the most talented lefthanders in the country who made a successful transition from the ACC to the SEC in 2026 while showing improved stuff. He sits in the 94-95 mph range with his fastball and touches 98 while breaking off a swing-and-miss slider in the upper 80s that looks like a plus breaking ball. He rounds out his arsenal with an upper-80s changeup and has been establishing a strong strike-throwing track record. -
School: Baylor HS, Chattanooga, Tenn. Commit/Drafted: Virginia
Age At Draft: 18.9
Valincius is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound lefthander with a strong and physical frame and a chance for three solid-average pitches. He doesn’t have a clear wipeout offering now but he pitches in the low 90s and has been up to 94 with a 78-83 mph slider with some sweepy action and a changeup in the low 80s. Valincius often misses with the changeup to his arm side but the pitch has solid arm-side fading life if he can add a bit more feel for it. Otherwise Valincius has shown the ability to get to average control and profiles as a solid starting pitcher because of it. He’s committed to Virginia and is the younger brother of Vytas Valincius, who is a righthanded slugger who plays for Illinois.
