Tekoah Roby

Roby was trending up in a big way this spring before the 2020 season shut down. Area scouts and crosscheckers alike were impressed with what they saw out from the 6-foot-1, 180-pound righthander and felt he was playing his way into third or fourth round of the draft. Roby works with an 89-94 mph fastball that gets plenty of swings and misses up in the zone, with spin rates in the 2300-2500 rpm range. He also shows some potential with a 76-78 mph curveball that has gradually improved and has a chance to be plus in the eyes of some evaluators. Roby began showing a solid 80-81 mph changeup this spring, giving him the three-pitch mix scouts wanted to see to go with good strike-throwing ability, Roby has starter traits and is rapidly improving. He is committed to Troy and could be a hot commodity in three years if he makes it to campus.
