Kyle Manzardo, 1B, Guardians: After a season in which he slugged 17 home runs between two levels and two organizations, Manzardo has shown off his power stroke in the desert. After homering in three straight games in the second week of the AFL, Manzardo, a lefty-hitting Washington State product, slammed two more longballs on Tuesday afternoon. Not only does Manzardo currently lead the AFL in home runs, he’s one off the total of six that Tyler Hardman and Matt Mervis hit last year when they led the league.

Tyler Locklear, 1B, Mariners: Over the course of the season, Locklear—a Virginia Commonwealth alum whom Seattle chose in the second round of the 2022 draft—emerged as one of the purest hitters in the Mariners’ system. His season was shortened by injury, but he’s making up for lost time in the AFL. On Tuesday he hit his second home run of the AFL, a two-run blast in Peoria’s extra-inning loss to Glendale.

Tekoah Roby, RHP, Cardinals: Roby was part of a fantastic Rangers draft class that also included outfielder Evan Carter, shortstop Thomas Saggese and infielder Justin Foscue. Roby and Saggese were the package of prospects Texas used to acquire Jordan Montgomery from the Cardinals.

Now, Roby, who opened the AFL with a pair of polar-opposite outings—three one-hit innings in his first start and five runs in 0.2 innings in his second turn—has turned scouts’ heads and is in contention for the top pitching prospect in St. Louis’ system.

Roby’s third start looked more like first. In three innings, the righthander struck out six hitters, walked one and allowed two runs (both earned) on three hits. After the outing, he’s got 11 strikeouts in 6.2 innings.
