UPDATE: The NCAA has cancelled the 2020 College Baseball Tournament. Click here for more details.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the Pac-12 and SEC on Thursday announced that they have suspended the spring sports season. With two major conferences taking that step, as well as the Ivy League and Patriot League opting to cancel the spring sports season, it is likely that the other conferences around the country will make similar moves.

The Pac-12’s suspension is indefinite, while the SEC’s runs through at least March 30. The Colonial Athletic Association has also suspended spring sports indefinitely.

That leaves the 2020 college baseball season seriously in doubt. But with the NBA going on hiatus Wednesday night, the moves were expected Thursday.

Now, college baseball, like everyone else, will await more information and hope the outbreak can soon be contained.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated with more information…
