Prospect Report: Nolan Jones Re-emerges For Guardians

Nolan Jones, OF, Guardians – Jones went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and four RBIs to lift the Guardians to an 8-4 win over the White Sox on Monday. He helped Cleveland get out to an early lead with a two-run single in the first inning and helped the Guardians pull away with a two-run double in the fifth that extended their lead from 5-4 to 7-4. Jones is now 7-for-13 to start his big league career since being called up last week, a welcome reminder of the talent that made him a three-time Top 100 Prospect before injuries knocked him sideways.

Bobby Witt Jr., SS, Royals – Witt went a combined 6-for-9 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Royals to a doubleheader sweep of the Tigers on Monday. He went 2-for-4 in the first game and scored the go-ahead run on fellow rookie Vinnie Pasquantino’s RBI single in the sixth. In the nightcap, he delivered his first career four-hit game and drove in both the tying and go-ahead runs after the Royals fell behind early. He is now riding a seven-game hit streak.

CJ Abrams, SS, Padres – Abrams went 2-for-3 and hit the decisive three-run home run in the Padres' 6-5 win over the Rockies. Abrams made a sensational diving stop at shortstop early in the game and launched his clutch home run in the eighth inning when he sent a hanging breaking ball 427 feet into the right field seats at Coors Field. Abrams is now batting .291 since his return to the majors and showing the skills that made him such a highly-touted prospect.
