Prospect Report: Dodgers Righthander Emmet Sheehan Strikes Out 10 In AFL
Emmet Sheehan, RHP, Dodgers – Sheehan had a start to remember in the Arizona Fall League on Tuesday, pitching five scoreless innings with one hit allowed, one walk and 10 strikeouts to lead Glendale to a 9-3 win over Peoria. Sheehan, the Dodgers sixth-round pick out of Boston College in 2021, struck out eight straight batters at one point. The only baserunners he allowed were a walk in the first inning and a bloop single to Padres prospect Tirso Ornelas in the fourth.
Jose Ramos, OF, Dodgers – Ramos snapped out of a 1-for-20 slump in a big way, going 4-for-5 with a triple, a home run and four RBIs to support Sheehan in Glendale’s win over Peoria. Ramos hit a leadoff triple in the second inning, got the scoring started with a leadoff home run in the fourth inning, tacked on an RBI single in the fifth inning and added another RBI single in the eighth to complete his big day.
T.J. Rumfield, 1B, Yankees – Rumfield continued his scorching AFL showing by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored to lead Mesa to a 9-8 win over Salt River. The 2021 12th-round pick out of Virginia Tech is up to a .415 batting average with a 1.096 OPS in the Fall League and has recorded multiple hits in half (8 of 16) of the games he’s played.
