Prospect Report: Bryson Stott Comes Up Big To Beat Braves
Bryson Stott, SS, Phillies – Stott hit the game-winning three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to send the Phillies to a 6-4 comeback win over the Braves on Monday night. He finished 2-for-4 with five RBIs. After a slow start, Stott is now batting .267 over the past month.
Aaron Ashby, LHP, Brewers – In his first start after signing a five-year extension, Ashby pitched seven innings with five hits and two runs allowed, one walk and nine strikeouts against the Rockies. He took the hard-luck loss after Kyle Freeland and two relievers shut out the Brewers offense.
Nick Lodolo, LHP, Reds – Lodolo bounced back from the worst start of his young career with arguably his best. The 24-year-old lefthander pitched six innings with two runs allowed (both unearned), two walks and a career-high nine strikeouts in the Reds’ 11-2 win over the Marlins. He finished with a flourish, striking out the side—all swinging—in his sixth and final inning.
