Arizona Diamondbacks Signed: RHP Miller Diaz (re-signed), LHP Armando Aguilar (Yucatan (Mexican)), SS Ildemaro Vargas (re-signed) Recalled: C Oscar Hernandez Placed on 7-day DL: RHP Jency Solis, 1B Marty Herum, SS Robelys Reyes

The Diamondbacks signed Armando Aguilar, a 25-year-old Mexican lefthander who has worked as a matchup reliever in a five-year career in the Mexican League. This season with Yucatan he appeared in 50 games and recorded a strikeout rate of 9.2 per nine innings and a WHIP of 0.99 in 30 innings. Lefthanded batters hit just .152/.250/.196 against him in 53 plate appearances.

Baltimore Orioles Signed: RHP Franderlyn Romero (re-signed), 1B Aderlin Rodriguez (re-signed), SS Erick Salcedo (re-signed) Added to 40-man roster: 1B Trey Mancini

The Orioles acquired Venezuelan righthander Franderlyn Romero in May when they traded two international bonus slots to the Reds that were valued at $693,300. That money could have been applied to last year's international class.

The Padres called up their prospect contingent from Triple-A El Paso following the club's Pacific Coast League championship run and participation in the Triple-A National Championship Game. If San Diego is successful in the next few seasons, then players like catcher Austin Hedges (.326 average, 21 home runs), center fielder Manuel Margot (.304 average, 30 stolen bases) and right fielder Hunter Renfroe (30 home runs, 105 RBIs) will be big reasons for that success.
