Mark Vientos, Triston Casas invade Jupiter

American Heritage High (Plantation, Fla.) is on the road taking on Jupiter High on Wednesday night in Palm Beach County. When the Patriots take the field, they play in front of almost a dozen scouts. Here are brief bios and live clips of the four marquee players in tonight’s game:

INF Mark Vientos

Vientos checks in at No. 20 in the 2017 Top 100 MLB Draft Prospects.  The Miami commit has been nursing a leg injury, but showed his explosive hips and bat speed at the recent National High School Invitational in Cary, N.C. Vientos is considered one the top offensive prospects in the 2017 MLB Draft.

Triston Casas

The two-time Under Armour All-America Game selection is widely considered one of the most powerful hitters in the high school ranks, regardless of classification. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound junior was an All-NHSI second team selection two weeks ago, flashing his easy lefthanded power.  Casas, a Miami commitment, is a projected first-round selection in the 2018 draft.

3B Cory Acton

Acton, a Florida commitment, was an All-NHSI first team selection two weeks ago in North Carolina in front of scouts from every major league team. Acton has seen his stock rise throughout the season, hitting behind Vientos and Casas.

Christian Santana

The Florida International commit was an All-NHSI first-team selection along with Acton after tossing seven shutout innings with 11 strikeouts while walking just one in front of a heavy scouting presence.
