College Baseball Rankings Top 25 For April 24

Oregon State posted another winning week, going on the road to win a series at UCLA, and retained its top spot in the Baseball America Top 25, powered by Louisville Slugger.

Oregon State has raced to the top of the Pacific-12 Conference standings by winning its first six conference series of the season. The Beavers have outscored opponents 186-77 this season and lead the nation with a 1.88 team ERA.

Louisville and North Carolina again follow Oregon State this week, while Texas Christian and Auburn move into the top five. It is Auburn’s first appearance in the top five since April 14, 2003, when it was also ranked fifth.

Three new teams join the Top 25 this week. Stanford leads the newcomers at No. 18, followed by Maryland at No. 21 and Mercer at No. 24. Stanford returns to the Top 25 after a week’s absence, while Maryland is back for the first time in three weeks. It is the first appearance in the rankings for Mercer since May 5, 2014.

Falling out of the Top 25 are Oklahoma, Southern Mississippi and Oregon. All three had losing weeks.

The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences with seven teams in the rankings. The Atlantic Coast Conference follows with five representatives.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through April 23 and do not include ties.
