Baseball America Prospect Report -- September 9, 2019

Taylor Trammell, OF, Padres. Trammell helped Double-A Amarillo to get past Midland and advance to the finals of the Texas League playoffs. Trammell had two hits, a single and a double, while also drawing a walk and scoring once from the leadoff spot. Trammell hit .229/.316/.381 with nine extra-base hits since coming over to the Padres organization. He has had two multi-hit games over his last three contests.

Shawn Dubin, RHP, Astros. Dubin allowed just one unearned run across six frames for high Class A Fayetteville against Down East. Houston’s No. 22 prospect needed 91 pitches, 59 for strikes before making his exit. Dubin has tossed at least five innings in each of his last four starts. Dubin was able to get past his rough month of July in which he posted a 5.59 ERA to bounce back and pitch to a 2.96 ERA in August.

Edwin Uceta, RHP, Dodgers. Uceta fired six strong innings for Double-A Tulsa to help them advance to the finals of the Texas League playoffs. The Dodgers’ No. 23 prospect allowed one run on five hits while walking one and striking out five along the way. Uceta has been dominant as of late, posting a 1.47 ERA over his last 10 outings.

Brett Baty, DH, Mets. Baty helped the short-season Brooklyn Cyclones muster up enough offense to edge Lowell in game one of the New York-Penn League finals. He collected a single on a ground ball in the second inning, followed by a line drive base hit in the eighth inning. He came around to score in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly, as Brooklyn managed to hold on to win 2-1. While Baty took some time to adjust in Kingsport after hitting well in the Gulf Coast League, the infielder has had some valuable hits during this playoff run for Brooklyn.
