Baseball America Prospect Report — October 12, 2018

J.B. Bukauskas, Astros — The righty was impressive in his first AFL start, striking out five hitters over 3.1 innings. His command wasn’t always sharp, but he showed plenty of power in his three-pitch arsenal. He topped out at 98 mph with his fastball and threw several nasty changeups in the low 90s.

Cole Tucker, Pirates — The shortstop prospect showed his skill set again on Thursday, notching two more hits and swiping two bags in Glendale’s loss to Surprise. He also drove in his first three runs of the fall.

Jordan Yamamoto, Marlins — The righty, acquired from Milwaukee as part of the deal that sent Christian Yelich to the Brewers, whiffed five in three shutout innings against Scottsdale. None of his pitches was overpowering, but he kept hitters off-balance with a low-90s fastball and a pair of breaking balls.

Peter Alonso, Mets — After homering on Wednesday, Alonso added two more hits to his ledger. He also stole his second base in as many days. He didn’t steal a base during the entire regular season.
