Fernando Tatis Jr., SS, Padres. Tatis Jr. went hitless, drew a walk and scored a run against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Pete Alonso, 1B, Mets. The Mets’ No. 2 prospect had two hits and an RBI double against Miami. It’s hard to imagine Alonso having a better first week of his MLB career. He is now batting .409/.458/.727.

Eloy Jimenez, OF, White Sox. Jimenez collected two hits in five at-bats against the Indians. The toolsy outfielder is now batting .200/.273/.200 on the season with no extra base yet in 20 at-bats.

Francisco Mejia, C, Padres. Mejia had a pinch-hit double that plated a run. He has collected three hits in nine at-bats so far this young season as he’s playing sporadically behind Austin Hedges.

Christin Stewart, OF, Tigers. Stewart went hitless and drew a walk against the Yankees. The offensive-minded Stewart hasn’t had a good start to his season and is batting just .045/.185/.182 with one extra base hits in 22 at-bats.

Few players in history have combined offensive production and youth to the same degree as Acuña, Soto and Tatis.
