Sterlin Thompson, OF, Rockies: Thompson, a Florida alum, was a one-man wrecking crew during his time in the High-A Northwest League. Over 60 games with Spokane, he hit .323/.399/.520 before a bump to Double-A Hartford. He missed the entire month of May on the injured list, which is why is he is making up for lost time in the AFL. On Tuesday, Thompson continued his torrid turn in the desert by collecting hits—including a double—in each of his first three at-bats against Surprise.

Kevin Alcantara, OF, Cubs: Alcantara has some of the loudest tools in the Fall League, including jaw-dropping power when he connects. On Tuesday, he crushed his fourth home run, a solo blast off of Cardinals prospect Tekoah Roby. Alcantara has calmed down hitting mechanics that had previously featured lots of big movements—a high leg kick in particular was a signature in his younger days—and he’ll need to make further strides with hit tool to reach his ceiling, but every ball he hits over a wall teases at his potential.

James Triantos, 3B, Cubs: We’ve written extensively about the heater Triantos has been on this fall. He earns a spot in today’s Prospect Report by reaching rare AFL heights. The 20-year-old infielder tripled in Tuesday’s contest, giving him five for the fall. The mark not only leads the league, it’s the highest AFL total since 2017, when Stevie Wilkerson (Orioles) finished the six-week league with five three-baggers.

Oliver Dunn, 2B, Phillies: James Triantos isn’t the only Fall Leaguer topping out on triples. Dunn, a Phillies farmhand who was plucked from the Yankees in the minor league phase of the most recent Rule 5 Draft, smacked his fourth AFL three-bagger on Tuesday. In doing so, he equaled his total from the 119 regular-season games he played in 2023 with Double-A Reading.
