James Triantos, 2B, Cubs: Triantos, whom the Cubs chose in the second round of the 2021 draft, has long established a rep as one of the purer hitters in Chicago’s system. He’s only reinforced that resume in the Fall League. Still just 20 years old, Triantos went 2-for-3 with a walk and a triple out of the leadoff spot in Mesa’s lineup Wednesday. The three-bagger was Triantos’ fourth of the fall, which is one more than he hit in 83 regular-season games between High-A South Bend and Double-A Tennessee.

Carter Bins, C, Pirates: Bins was originally a Mariners prospect but came over to Pittsburgh as part of the deal that brought lefty Tyler Anderson to Seattle. The 25-year-old Fresno State alum spent the bulk of the season on the injured list, playing just 31 games in the regular season. When he was healthy, he still struggled to hit, producing a line of a just .222/.297/.367 at Double-A Altoona. He helped his Peoria club topple Salt River on Wednesday by going 3-for-4 with a double and his second home run of the fall.

Jacob Berry, 3B, Marlins: It’s no secret that Berry—whom the Marlins chose with their first-round pick in 2022—hasn’t performed as planned. The third baseman, who starred at both Arizona and Louisiana State, hit just .233/.284/.388 in a season split between High-A and Double-A. He walked just 25 times in 468 plate appearances. In the AFL, however, he’s shown a bit of life in the box. The switch-hitter went 3-for-5 and finished a triple shy of the cycle on Wednesday. The home run—a solo blast in the seventh inning—was his first of the fall. The effort pushed his OPS to .970.
