Arizona Fall League Prospect Report: Colson Montgomery Homers Twice

Colson Montgomery, SS, White Sox: Chicago’s top prospect reached a career milestone on Friday when he mashed his second and third home runs of the AFL. The effort was the first multi-homer game of Montgomery’s career and put a pair of exclamation points on an outstanding overall week in Glendale.

Reggie Crawford, TWP, Giants: San Francisco’s two-way talent looked rusty in the first week of the AFL. That could be explained by a season stunted by injuries (oblique) and illness (mononucleosis), which led to his timing being off a bit. He found his groove a bit over the weekend. In two games for Scottsdale, Crawford went 2-for-7 with a double and his first home run of the fall.
Sterlin Thompson, 2B, Rockies: The Florida alum continued his strong AFL campaign with three hits in six at-bats over the weekend. Thompson split his regular year between High-A and Double-A, where he produced an .863 OPS and 14 home runs in 355 at-bats. With Salt River, he’s produced a .484 average, which is third in the league, a .610 OBP that ranks second and a .742 slugging percentage that places third.
