2023 Colombia World Baseball Classic Roster

Colombia is bringing some familiar players back to the World Baseball Classic.

Longtime major league starters Jose Quintana and Julio Teheran headline Colombia's roster for the 2023 WBC. They are joined by fellow longtime big leaguers Gio Urshela and Donovan Solano in the infield, Harold Ramirez in the outfield and Jorge Alfaro behind the plate.

Colombia also features a number of intriguing prospects, including Athletics infielder Jordan Diaz, Pirates righthander Santiago Florez and Cubs righthander Danis Correa. Red Sox minor league lefthander Rio Gomez, the son of late ESPN broadcaster Pedro Gomez, is on the roster as well.

The team will be managed by former major league outfielder Jolbert Cabrera.

Update: Quintana has withdrawn from the WBC due a stress fracture in his ribs. Righthander Elkin Alcala and outfielder Tito Polo have also been removed from the roster. Righthander Julio Vivas, catcher Jhonatan Solano and infielder Dilson Herrera have been added to the roster.

Trade Central: Cardinals Acquire Jose Quintana From Pirates To Bolster Rotation

The Cardinals bolstered their rotation on Monday, acquiring Jose Quintana from the Pirates in an intra-division trade.
