Dobzanski didn't pitch much on the showcase circuit, but opened eyes with a strong performance at the Rivalry Classic at Fenway Park in September. A few weeks later, he pitched at the WWBA Championships in Jupiter, Fla., where he showed the potential for plus control and a plus curveball and catapulted himself up follow lists for the spring. A gifted high school wrestler, Dobzanski quit wrestling this winter to focus more exclusively on baseball. Dobzanski's brother Bryan is a prospect in the Cardinals' system. | Brad's body lacks a ton of physical projection; he's well-built at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, but the hand speed he showed in Jupiter lead scouts to project more velocity in his future. Dobzanski showed late sink on his fastball in the fall and pitched at 88-91 mph. His velocity has been inconsistent this spring, sitting in the upper 80s. While his curveball shows the makings of an above-average to plus pitch when he throws it with conviction, the pitch lacks consistent bite. Dobzanski is committed to Kentucky, who has had plenty of success on the mound under its new coaching staff this season. Dobzanski's intriguing projection could lead a team to take a shot at signing him, or he could aim to develop into a front of the draft prospect by enrolling at Kentucky.
