Skylar Szynski

A hard-throwing righthander who jumped onto the national scene with strong performances at the East Coast Pro Showcase and in Jupiter. Szynski consistently has demonstrated plus velocity (91-93 mph, touching 95) and a high 70s slider with some shape and bite. Szynski has had trouble maintaining that velocity deeper into games and his changeup is currently too firm. He hides the ball well with an compact but effortful, up-tempo delivery. There's not much projection left to his body, but he has present strength (as well as early-career Tim Lincecum-length hair). He is an Indiana signee, but could entice teams as early as the third round.
