He showed off both traits in his stellar pro debut in the Dominican Summer League. He put forth a strikeout rate of just 14.2 percent while walking at a 9.7 percent clip and showing enough power that 25 of his 65 hits went for extra bases. In the field, Morel's fast-twitch ability and plus speed will allow him to play shortstop, but he might be better suited for center field in the long run.
