Almanza is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound first baseman and lefthanded hitter who spent two seasons with Utah before transferring to St. Mary’s. In 2024 the lefty slugger hit a career-high 24 home runs and slashed .343/.459/.778 with a 17.6% strikeout rate and 15.3% walk rate. Most of that power went to the pull side and straight away center field this spring but he has shown enough power to set new records for St. Mary’s with single-season homers (24) and career home runs (47) after just three seasons.
