Field is a winner. After playing on four state championship teams with Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas, he was a key contributor to Arizona's College World Seres champions in 2012. He has batted .343/.432/.520 as a three-year starter for the Wildcats, but his performance outweighs his tools. He has a good feel for hitting and a short righthanded swing but is smaller than his listed 5-foot-10, 195-pound build and offers little power. He plays outfield now, but will have to move back to the position he played in high school--second base--as a professional. He is a below-average runner with a below-average arm. With his performance track record and excellent makeup, Field could grind his way to the big leagues, but it would likely be as a bench player.
