He earned all-Mountain West conference honors his first two seasons and hit .302/.395/.559 with 11 home runs as a junior. Kachel isn’t overly physical at 6 foot, 170 pounds, but he has a sound approach, plenty of bat speed and a knack for barreling the ball from the left side. He has wiry strength and surprising power for his size, giving him a chance to reach double-digit home runs. Kachel doesn't offer much defensively. He is a below-average defender with poor hands at both third base and second base and may have to move to the outfield. He's an intense player who performs best in big moments.
