A slick-fielding shortstop who also has solid power and speed tools, Daniel was a heavily-scouted prep prospect early in the 2022 season. Evaluators believe he’s a no-doubt shortstop at the next level with above-average glovework, plus arm strength and above-average speed that will help him cover ground. He shows a good swing in batting practice and drives the ball hard but has struggled to replicate that swing in games and has hit tool questions as a result. Those highest on Daniel’s ability to progress as a hitter will have a lot to like, while others might want to see him prove his offensive game in college. Originally committed to Oregon, Daniel announced in late June that he intended to go to Northwest Florida State JC, before heading to Oregon for the 2024 school year.
