Even though he's the son of nine-year major leaguer Cory Snyder, Taylor has flown under the scouting radar. He wasn't a fixture on last summer's showcase circuit, but has generated some buzz this spring with his athleticism, bloodlines and tools. Snyder has a thin build at 6-foot-2 and 160 pounds, but has wiry strength and should fill out. He led Utah preps with 12 home runs, albeit against poor competition. He has a quick, balanced swing and could be an average hitter with below-average power. He is solid at shortstop but may fit better at second base. He is an average runner. Snyder is committed to Salt Lake CC. Cory is now a hitting coach in the Mariners organization.
