Commit/Drafted: Miami
Age At Draft: 18.2
BA Grade:45/Extreme
Tools:Hit: 40. Power: 60. Run: 40. Field: 40. Arm: 60.
Cuvet has plus raw power that grades out among the best in the class and could end up a 70 on the 20-80 scale in the future. The righthanded slugger is physically developed with a strong, 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame that has plenty of strength and allows him to showcase all-fields power in batting practice, with top-end exit velocities that have already neared 110 mph. Cuvet’s power comes with plenty of swing-and-miss tendencies, and he has struggled against 92-plus mph velocity, so developing pitch recognition and strike-zone discipline will be key. A definite corner profile, Cuvet has plus arm strength that would be an asset for him at third base, though he has a lot of work to do with his hands, footwork and actions to stick at the position and could be a better fit as a first baseman or perhaps a corner outfielder, though he is a below-average runner. Despite his physicality, Cuvet is on the younger end of the prep class and doesn’t turn 18 until May 2023. He is committed to Miami.

Draft Prospects
-
School:Miami (FL) Age At Draft: 21.1
Drafted: Pirates ’23 (17)
Cuvet somehow upstaged his standout freshman season in which he hit .351/.429/.736 with 15 doubles, 24 home runs and 75 RBIs by posting a .372/.450/.708 slash line with 20 doubles and 18 home runs en route to a first-team All-America selection. Cuvet has thunderous raw power, but there are questions as to how his hit tool will hold up. Right-on-right breaking balls are a bit of a bugaboo, and he also has the tendency to expand the strike zone against all pitch types. There is a strong chance Cuvet eventually makes the move from third base over to first. -
School: Miami (FL) Committed/Drafted: Pirates ’23 (17). Age At Draft: 21.1
Cuvet showed some of the best raw power in the 2023 class as a high schooler, but pure hitting questions helped allow him to reach campus at Miami. He was one of the most impressive hitters in the country as a freshman and followed it up with a second strong season in 2025 as a sophomore. In his first two college seasons, Cuvet has hit .361/.439/.722 with 42 home runs and 35 doubles. At 6-foot-4, 235 pounds, he is an imposing presence in the righthanded batting box with broad shoulders and plus-plus raw power. He’s an aggressive hitter who likes to swing. He will expand the zone with frequency, but the length of his levers affords him impressive plate coverage and leverage when he makes contact. While his production in college has been strong, Cuvet’s pure hit tool questions persist thanks to plenty of swing-and-miss tendencies and aggressive swing decisions. Cuvet has a strong arm, but he’ll need to improve his defense to stick at third base. -
