Pitre is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound Canadian native and second baseman who has shown solid plate discipline and contact skills with Kentucky. He is a singles and doubles hitter who doesn’t hit for much power and doesn’t project to add much more to his frame, but he’ll work counts, take walks when he gets them and is also a good runner who stole 20 bags during the 2023 season.

BA Grade: 45/High
Track Record: Pitre was one of the best high school players in Canada before heading to Kentucky in 2021. A native of Montreal, Pitre’s first language is French. He had a solid track record of hitting at Kentucky as well as in the Cape Cod League in the summer before his junior year.
Scouting Report: Pitre is a top or bottom of the order hitter whose plate discipline and bat-to-ball skills stand out as a table-setter. He improved his power production in his draft year, but he has below-average power and that does not project to be a big part of his game. He’s a second baseman who should be able to stick there, but does not project to be able to slide to shortstop or third base.
The Future: Pitre is a relatively polished hitter who should move quickly. The Rays appear to be betting on continued improvement at the plate.
