  Track Record: Arizona signed Virahonda for $200,000 out of Venezuela in January 2023 mostly because of their conviction in his defensive abilities, including good receiving skills and a powerful arm. But they also like his short, quick swing, and in his three seasons as a pro he has shown he has some offensive upside, as well. He bounced back from a miserable season in 2024 to put himself back on the map in 2025, performing well on the complex and holding his own in Low-A Visalia following a promotion.
  
  Scouting Report: Virahonda has a stocky build with short levers, and all of his actions seem compact and quick as a result. He has a balanced, repeatable swing and a knack for making contact, particularly on fastballs. He has cut down on his chase rate each of the past two years but still needs to refine his approach. His raw power is average though it doesn’t yet translate in games. It should improve as he gains strength and experience. His defense projects to be above-average, giving him a solid foundation as a prospect. He is a good receiver who posts excellent pop times thanks to a combination of a strong arm and a quick, compact throwing motion. He is a fringe-average runner.
  
  The Future: Virahonda’s strong season left some envisioning him as the club’s catcher of the future. If it all comes together, he could be a contributor both at the plate and behind it.
