School: Worcester (Mass.) Academy Commit/Drafted: LSU
Age At Draft: 19.6
Rizy is one of the most physically imposing pitchers in the 2024 draft class and looms over batters with a 6-foot-9, 225-pound frame that still has plenty of room for added mass and strength. He worked from the stretch this summer and showed a relatively easy delivery with a slight crossfire landing. He pitches in the 92-93 mph range early in outings and has touched 95 in games, though he has also touched 98 mph indoors in bullpen sessions. He looks like the sort of pitcher who will be consistently in the upper 90s in the near future. Rizy also mixes an inconsistent breaking ball tha blends between a slider and curveball with spin rates in the 2,400-2,600 rpm range and has experimented with a cutter and split-changeup. Rizy is quite old for the class and will be a draft-eligible sophomore if he makes it to campus at LSU.
