  Track Record: Adams was a lightly recruited prep who was committed to Michigan State, but after his senior season, a big offensive campaign in the summer collegiate Prospect League helped his draft stock. The Brewers signed him for $282,500 as a 12th-round pick in 2022 and he has a career .425 OBP
  
  Scouting Report: Adams is one of the most polarizing prospects in the minors. He’s a physical 6-foot-4 righthanded hitter with plus raw power, which leads to hard contact in games but hasn’t translated to big home run totals yet. He’s an extremely patient hitter who piles up walks, and when he does swing, it’s a high contact rate. Adams does it with bigger moving parts in the box, loading with a big, hanging leg kick and length to his swing. He can punish fastballs, but the lack of adjustability to his swing gives him more trouble against offspeed stuff. He’s patient to the point of being passive—his 31% swing rate was the second-lowest among full-season hitters with at least 100 plate appearances—and he’s a magnet for getting plunked with his 40 hit by pitches tied for first in the minors. He runs surprisingly well for his size with average speed, but he’s a below-average defender at third base with clunky feet, limited range and an average arm, so left field or first base could be in his future.
  
  The Future: If Adams performs well at Double-A Biloxi in 2025, he will win over doubters.

  Track Record: In high school, Adams was a Michigan State commit who was not a prominent prospect at national events. After his senior season, he hit .404/.478/.737 in 68 plate appearances in the summer collegiate Prospect League, which enhanced his draft stock. The Brewers signed him for $282,500 as a 12th-round pick in 2022, and after a strong pro debut that summer in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Adams followed with a solid campaign with Low-A Carolina in 2023.
  
  Scouting Report: Adams is a split camp player with an unorthodox look. He’s a strong, physical player who can drive the ball with impact. He has above-average raw power with exit velocities up to 112 mph, he’s a patient hitter who has piled up walks and doesn’t have much swing-and-miss on pitches in the strike zone. He does it with an extremely funky swing that starts with a big, hanging leg kick and a significant hitch, starting his hands up by his ear, dropping them to his waist, then raising them back up to his shoulder. Adams is a good fastball hitter who can punish mistakes, but there’s length to his swing and a lack of adjustability that will get tested against better pitching. An average runner, Adams typically makes the routine plays at third base with an average arm from a lower slot, but his heavy feet and limited range mean he’s probably ticketed for an outfield corner or first base.
  
  The Future: The upper levels of the minors will be the big jump for Adams to prove that his offensive skill set will translate against more advanced competition. He could get there in 2024 after likely opening in High-A Wisconsin.

The Brewers drafted him in the 12th round, signed him for $282,500 and his success carried over into the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

He starts his swing with a big hitch, at times bringing his hands from his back shoulder to below his belt and then up to his shoulder again, all while taking a leg kick into a big stride out front. It's not always quite that exaggerated, but despite a lot of moving parts and funky path through the zone, so far it has worked--both in terms of contact and impact. He has an accurate barrel, a good sense of the strike zone and the strength to drive the ball with impact and projects for above-average power. Adams signed as a third baseman, though his time there might be limited. A below-average runner, he more likely ends up in an outfield corner, with a chance he could be a first baseman.
