Long didn’t pitch in an official game this spring after Division III Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.) canceled its season due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, but he made a name for himself pitching for the Cotuit Ketleers in the Cape Cod League after the season. Long is a big 6-foot-6, 230-pound righthander with a four-pitch mix and impressive fastball command. His fastball sits 90-93 mph and he can locate it to both sides of the plate. He complements it with a mid-70s curveball, low-80s slider and a changeup that are all competitive pitches, and he throws plenty of strikes. Few teams saw Long pitch this year, but those that did have interest as a senior sign.
