  Kellington's rural, upstate Vermont high school is a ways out from the typical scouting trail, but Northeast scouts have trekked out to see him pitch this spring. Kellington is a man among boys relative to his competition there, with scouts pointing out how excited opposing hitters were coming back into the dugout when they put the ball in play against him. The pure stuff is legitimate, starting with a low-90s fastball that gets up to 93 mph with the projection for more as he fills out his 6-foot-2 frame. He complements his fastball with sharp break on his curveball, a pitch with above-average potential. Kellington has the makings of a good delivery, though he lands with a big open stride and finishes with a head whack, with solid athleticism that should help him make adjustments. Between Kellington's lack of exposure at big national events last summer and his environment this spring, it's a trickier evaluation. Once his high school season ends, he is scheduled to pitch against college hitters in the Futures League starting around mid-June, so he's a helium candidate if he pitches well there.
