Winston made just three starts in his first three seasons for Southern Miss while relieving 40 times but he moved into a larger role this year. He started and relieved for Southern Miss as the Golden Eagles earned a regional bid in 2016, pitching a career-best 67 innings. He fits best as a reliever in pro ball, where the 6-foot-1, 194-pounder can pitch toward the top end of his velocity register more often. At his best, he'll pop 93s and 94s on radar guns. His slider and changeup are both playable but below-average.
