Woessner, in his fourth year with Central Arizona JC, is a familiar face for Four Corners scouts this spring. He pitched out of the bullpen his first two seasons before transitioning to a starting role in 2021, where he posted a 5.25 ERA with 10.4 K/9 and 4.2 BB/9. This spring, Woessner slimmed down a bit and improved his fastball velocity a tick, now touching 97 mph at peak and sitting in the 92-93 mph range. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound righty posted a 3.55 ERA in 18 starts and 96.1 innings this spring, with 122 strikeouts and 34 walks. On top of his fastball, Woessner throws a firm, short-breaking slider in the mid 80s and has also infrequently used a changeup in the mid 80s and a spike-grip curveball around 80 mph. He’s an older juco prospect who could suffer from some draft fatigue because of that but has improved both his stuff and control with a delivery that looks easier than a year ago.
