The Giants more than made a splash in the international market. They did a full cannonball. They signed 16-year-old Dominican infielder Angel Villalona to a contract that includes a $2.1 million signing bonus—the largest the franchise has ever offered to an amateur. It even exceeds the $2.025 million the Giants gave to righthander Tim Lincecum, the 10th overall pick in June.
