Righthander Adam Russell's sense of timing could be better, but his recent work proved too good for even the pitching-rich White Sox to ignore. When the White Sox went through 22 pitchers a year ago, with relievers compiling a 5.47 ERA, Russell was unable to build on momentum he created with a strong showing in spring training.
