Major League Baseball's hiring of Sandy Alderson two months ago to help reform the game's operations in the Dominican Republic triggered a wave of different reactions across the Dominican baseball community, including a series of contentious incidents on the island. While Alderson maintains his role is to help clean up the country's problems with age and identity fraud, steroid use and to improve the image of Dominican baseball, people from all corners of the Dominican baseball community—trainers, agents, and team employees—remain on edge over the possibility of an international draft.
