NOTES: Kansas State earned its first win against Texas in 17 tries Sunday, also winning its first game against a No. 1 ranked team. Sr. SS Seth Johnston put together his 16th and 17th multi-hit games of the year against K-State, batting .385 with five RBIs on the week to increase his team-leading totals to .394 and 27. So. RHP Kyle McCulloch threw a three-hit shutout Friday, the team's seventh of the year. So. OF Carson Kainer scored the winning run Saturday, touching the plate safely as a throw from second base pulled the catcher off the plate.

Owings went 4-for-5 with a homer and two doubles Sunday, while Fr. 3B Brad Emaus collected three hits to bring his CUSA average to .541. Sr. DH Scott Madden batted .462 with seven RBIs on the week. He caught the final two games of the UAB series after Greg Dini was injured.

So. 3B Wes Hodges, Fr. 1B Matt Wieters and Jr. DH Jeremy Slayden are all batting better than .400, with Wieters hitting .636 in ACC play. Sunday's margin of victory was GT's largest since 1998, but it could have used some of those runs Saturday against Ben Pfinsgraff (7.2 IP, R, 5 H), who helped break a 16-game Turtles losing streak in Atlanta.

So. 1B Matt LaPorta is a home run machine. He went deep in every game of the UK series and has 11 on the year (2nd in the SEC). Fr. RHP Stephen Locke is not a pitching machine, but he did hold FSU to a run over 5.2 IP.

LHP Eric Berger allowed only a walk in 5 2/3 hitless innings of relief Sunday. Jr. 1B Jordan Brown drove in three runs Sunday after hitting a game-winning grand slam in the seventh inning Friday. Sr. OF Jeff Van Houten went 7-for-9 with five RBIs in the Friday and Sunday games.

DH Matt Ellington scoring the tying run in the bottom of the 10th before driving home the game-winner in the 11th. Ellington also scored the game-winning run Friday, coming home on a Jay Cox sacrifice fly. Fr. 1B Chad Flack homered Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, and Fr. Seth Williams might have earned a full-time role in CF by homering twice on the week to bring his team-best total to seven. Sr. C/3B Justin Webb collected five hits (two homers) and seven RBIs in the first two games of the series.

LHP Clay Dirks improved to 7-0 Saturday as Blake Gill, Ryan Patterson and Dustin Weaver each homered. Patterson hit two homers on the week, including a grand slam against New Orleans, to move to 13 on the year. Jr. LHP T.J. Large threw a four-hit shutout Friday, the first time LSU had been held scoreless since the 2004 SEC tournament.

Jr. RHP Josh Geer struck out a career-high 11 batters and allowed six hits Friday; Jr. RHP Eddie Degerman struck out 10 and allowed two hits Saturday; and Fr. LHP Joe Savery struck out 10 through eight innings Sunday before allowing three straight singles with none out in the bottom of the ninth to fall 2-1.

Jr. RF Mark Stanley tallied five hits Saturday and Sunday while filling in for Brendan Winn, who missed the series with a lower back injury. Jr. 2B Chris Brown extended his hit streak to 12 games, while Jr. LF Michael Campell has hit in 11 straight. Sr. RHP Zac McCamie struck out nine over 7.2 IP Saturday to improve to 6-1, 2.27 with 54 strikeouts and 14 walks in a team-best 47.2 IP. So. LHP Jeff Jeffords allowed a run in 5.2 IP Sunday to earn the win after throwing five scoreless innings against Brown.

Carrillo (7-0, 0.95) struck out nine in a complete game Thursday, setting a Miami record with his 19th straight win to open his career. Miami is 28-0 when he pitches. Srs. Brendan Katin and Paco Figueroa each homered and drove in three Friday. Brian Hanson scored the game-winner on a Danny Gil wild pitch Saturday when Miami wasted a career-best eight strikeouts from Sr. Brandon Camardese. Sr. RHP Dan Touchet was touched up again Sunday, allowing seven runs in 4.2 IP.

LHP Nick Schmidt took his first career loss Friday, allowed four runs on five hits while walking five. Arkansas got just five hits in support of him against Arnold Hughey.

Ryan LaMotta earned the win Friday, striking out six batters in 3.1 IP of perfect relief. So. LHP Cory VanAllen (6.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R) has won four straight decisions over five starts. Sr. C/DH Josh Ford has reached base safely in 25 straight games, with hits in 19 of them.

NOTES: Oregon State has won seven straight games. As always, Jr. CF Jacoby Ellsbury led the charge with 12 hits in 22 at-bats on the week. He walked four times, was hit by two pitches, score five runs, swipe three bags and generally ruined opponents' days. BYU had won 14 of 15 before running into the Beavers. So. RHP Jonah Nickerson earned two wins in two starts on the week, allowing two earned runs on 10 hits while striking out 16 batters in 11 innings. So. RHP Dallas Buck allowed a run on four hits over six innings Friday, striking out seven batters to improve to 6-0 with 70 K's in 53.2 IP. C Mitch Canham homered and drove in three runs Saturday.

Jr. LHP Brian Duensing allowed three hits in a complete-game effort Sunday, while Jesse Boyer drove in a career-high four runs. Jr. LHP Zach Kroenke threw his own three-hit complete-game Saturday, recording seven strikeouts while Jr. 3B Alex Gordon hit a two-run homer, his Big 12-leading 11th. Sr. 1B Curtis Ledbetter hit a two-run home run to break a 4-4 tie Friday, and Sr. OFs Daniel Bruce and Brandon Fusilier also went deep.

The 12-0 conference start is the school's best in seven years as a SoCon member and has won 10 straight overall. A 10-run fourth inning Friday set a school record. Brett Anderson captured first place on the school RBIs list with No. 154 over the weekend. Brett Gardner leads the conference with a .463 average after a .500 week and a nine-game hit streak, while D.J. Wabick has hit in eight straight and leads the league with 40 RBIs.

"We were all sad to see it end," said coach Mike Martin, who had the field named for him before Saturday's game. "In the 40 years I have been around Florida State baseball and whoever is around for the next 40, they will never again see another 40-game hitting streak. It is an accomplishment. It is the toughest thing to do in all of baseball. To do what Shane did is incredible.Ē Robinson scored the game-winning run on an Aaron Cheeseman safety squeeze in the bottom of the ninth of the first game of the doubleheader. So. RHP Tyler Chambliss earned his ACC-leading eighth save Saturday and then improved to 5-1 with a win Saturday.

Jr. LHP Cesar Ramos threw his third straight complete game Friday (9 K's, BB) to pass Abe Alvarez as the school's winningest lefthander (24 wins). C Chris Jones drove in the only run Saturday with a bases-loaded single with one out in the ninth. He's batting .372 on the year with hits in 17 of his last 18 games. So. RHP Jared Hughes allowed a run over seven innings Sunday, a day after Jr. RHP Marco Estrada threw seven scoreless innings but got a no decision. Jr. SS Troy Tulowitzki went 4-for-9 with four runs.

Jr. C Josh Bell extended his hit streak to 10 games, batting .450-4-15 during that span.

Missouriís 25 runs tied its season high and marked the third time it had topped 20 on the year. The Tigers have scored double-digit runs in 17 of its 27 games. So. Hunter Mense went 4-for-4 Sunday.
