Sophomore Texas A&M third baseman Gavin Grahovac will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, dealing a significant blow to the top-ranked Aggies. The news was first reported by TexAgs.

The 2024 SEC Freshman of the Year, Grahovac last season posted a .298/.390/.597 slash line with 16 doubles, 23 home runs and 66 RBIs across 67 games. Through the team’s first six games of 2025, Grahovac had a pair of homers and six RBIs to his name. A strong and physical player, Grahovac’s ability to drive the baseball with authority to all fields stands out. He has first-round upside in the 2026 draft.

It’s still early, but the Aggies have had rough injury luck. They announced prior to the season that Shane Sdao would miss the entire 2025 campaign, while star sophomore outfielder Caden Sorrell is expected to miss at least a few more weeks.

Texas A&M’s depth was one of the main reasons it ranked No. 1 entering the season. That quality is being tested earlier than anticipated.
