Teams, Schedules Announced For MLB Desert Invitational & Andre Dawson Classic College Tournaments
Major League Baseball on Tuesday morning announced participating schools and schedules for the MLB Desert Invitational and Andre Dawson Classic, a pair of eight-team collegiate tournaments hosted annually by the league.
Both tournaments will utilize round-robin formats and all games will be streamed live on MLB.com. MLB Network will exclusively air three matchups from the Desert Invitational and two from the Andre Dawson Classic.
MLB Desert Invitational
Austin Peay, Grand Canyon, Nebraska, New Mexico, San Diego State, Seton Hall, UC Irvine and Vanderbilt make up the field for the Desert Invitational, which is set for Feb. 14-16 across three locations in Phoenix, Arizona: Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Sloan Park, and Grand Canyon University.
Four of the eight teams—Grand Canyon, Nebraska, Irvine and Vanderbilt—reached the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Andre Dawson Classic
Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Florida A&M, Grambling, Jackson State, Prairie View A&M, Southern University and Missouri will participate in the 17th Andre Dawson Classic from Feb. 21-23 at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida. Grambling is the only school in the field that reached the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Missouri, which is led by former Southern University head coach Kerrick Jackson, is the first SEC team ever to participate in the Andre Dawson Classic, a tournament that highlights Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Jackson participated in the tournament in all three of his seasons with the Jaguars.
