TCU Freshman Dies

Drew Medford, an incoming freshman righthander at Texas Christian, died early Thursday morning in a car accident.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Medford, 18, was in a one-car accident around 2:45 a.m. Thursday. The Texas Department of Public Safety was investigating the crash.
Medford excelled on the diamond this spring for Paschal High School in Fort Worth. He went 6-2, 2.11, and was named honorable mention all-state by the Texas Sportswriters Association.
Medford’s death was the second difficult loss for the TCU program in recent weeks. Micah Ahern, a 7-year-old cancer patient who the team adopted as a teammate in 2013, died July 28. Coach Jim Schlossnagle expressed his grief on Twitter.
We lost another @TCU_Baseball teammate this morning. Please keep the Medford family in your prayers. pic.twitter.com/xBaM4BrLoQ
