In the past 10 years of the Statcast era, Jorge Soler is the only Royals hitter to have hit more than one 114+ mph exit velocity home run in regular season games. Royals first base prospect Jac Caglianone has now done it twice this spring. Caglianone hit a majestic 114.6 mph home run to right field on Sunday that was estimated to travel 444 feet. Earlier this spring training, he hit a 115.4 mph home run that remains the second hardest hit homer in a Statcast-measured game this year. Caglianone also doubled in a 2-for-2 game. He’s now hitting .545/.643/1.455 with three home runs and more importantly just one strikeout in 14 plate appearances.
