Reds’ Chase Petty Spins Best Start Of The Season
Double-A Chattanooga righthander Chase Petty held Birmingham to one hit in seven scoreless innings of work. It tied Petty’s longest outing of the season. The only time Petty got into any trouble on Sunday was when he walked a pair of hitters in the sixth inning, but Petty got a pair of infield pop flies to end the inning. Petty is 4-2, 3.34 in the second half of the season. While he’s been much more homer prone (10 home runs this year compared to zero last year), Petty has been extremely durable this year, reaching 120 innings already, putting him in good position to make the big leagues next season.
