Low-A Daytona outfielder Ariel Almonte (Reds) is having a season that is hard to describe so far. He hit his 10th home run of the season on Friday, which is five more than anyone else in the Florida State League. No one has hit more than 20 home runs in an FSL season since the pandemic, so Almonte’s home run production is outlandish. That’s the good news, but Almonte is hitting .198 with a 36% strikeout rate. Almonte has 10 home runs, two doubles and six singles this year.
