Red Sox RHP Luis Perales Struggles
Righthander Luis Perales showed plenty of arm strength, but little in the way of results in his fourth Arizona Fall League start. Perales, who is working back from Tommy John surgery, now has a 6.75 ERA.
Perales allowed five hits in 2.2 innings of work. He gave up a pair of singles and an error before he recorded an out. After getting out of the first inning with just one unearned run, he struggled again in the second, walking the leadoff batter before Edward Duran tripled to the center field wall. A Miguel Ugueto single drove in another run. Perales gave up another single before leaving in the third inning.
Perales touched 100 mph at his best, and his cutter was effective, but he struggled to locate his changeup. After two effective starts, Perales has allowed eight hits in the past 4.2 innings.
