Triple-A Rochester outfielder James Wood (Nationals) is on another tear. In the first game of a doubleheader against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Wood homered twice, giving him five home runs in a three-game stretch. Wood also walked in that game, and then went 1-for-2 with another walk in the nightcap. He’s now walked seven times and only struck out six times in May. He’s hitting .351/.452/.595 overall with seven home runs and nine steals in 10 attempts in 34 games.
