High-A Brooklyn lefthander Jonathan Santucci has impressively put a poor first quarter of the season behind him. In his first six starts of the season, Santucci allowed 33 hits and 19 runs in just 21 innings.

But after he threw five scoreless innings on Sunday with just one-hit allowed, Santucci has now allowed just 18 hits and four runs in his past 35 innings. Santucci retired the first 11 batters he faced, and a walk and steal by Austin Overn in the fifth was the only time he allowed a runner into scoring position.

Santucci, the Mets’ 2024 second-round pick, is now 4-4, 3.80 this season with an 8.1% walk rate and a 24.7% strikeout rate.
