Mets’ Blade Tidwell Shuts Down Buffalo
In his best start of the season, Triple-A Syracuse righthander Blade Tidwell held the Bisons to two hits and one walk in 4.1 scoreless innings. He struck out nine. Tidwell lowered his ERA to 4.43. Tidwell did nibble a bit, with a 61% strike percentage that explains why he had to be pulled three batters into the fifth inning after throwing 74 pitches. He got four swings and misses on his four-seam fastball, which sat at 95-97 mph and touched 98. He also got another eight whiffs with his sweeper.
