All season long, Mets righthander Jonah Tong has been outstanding. He turned in a standout effort in one of the team’s Spring Breakout games, and he’s been a monster at Double-A all year long. His latest gem came against Somerset, which countered fellow prospect Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz. Tong went five strong, blanking the Patriots on three hits and two walks. He struck out eight, bringing his season total to 154 in 97 innings. His ERA drops to 1.58 as well.
