Jefferson Rojas Also Stays … Red Hot
The Midwest League is notoriously tough on hitters in the early going thanks to weather conditions that oftentimes border on frigid. Even the best prospects tend to see their stats dip before the weather warms up. Cubs shortstop prospect Jefferson Rojas doesn’t seem to mind. The 18-year-old, who opened the season as the league’s second-youngest player, continued his early torrid stretch on Tuesday by collecting two more hits and a stolen base in his team’s loss to Beloit. The output marked Rojas’ third straight multi-hit game and continued a five-game hitting streak that started with a four-hit effort on April 10.
